Original Cultures 'The Formula' - Bologna 2011

'The Formula' was Original Cultures' 4th event, once more held in Bologna in June 2011. Our most ambitious production to date, The Formula was based on a unique short story - Corporeal Fluidity - by acclaimed author Valerio Evangelisti. The story was adapted by theatrical maestro Pietro Babina into a unique audio/visual show. This show featured music from a band led by producer B.Kun with Hed on drums, Mannaman on bass and Danilo Mineo on percussions alongside Architeq (from the UK) as dubmaster and visual work focusing on video manipulations and lettering by David Loom and the MEAT Collective.

Over the space of a week, the artists prepared the show in small creative workshops as with previous Original Cultures shows. At the end of the week, Babina brought the music and visual elements together for one rehearsal before the public showcase which took place in the beautiful Arena Orfeonica in Bologna's Quartiere San Vitale. Despite being our most ambitious project to date, The Formula proved to be a resounding success with a great reception from the crowd and all the artists involved.
